Our Story
Legacy & vision united
The story of Summit Church is one of God’s faithfulness through generations. In 1941, Lone Grove Assembly of God opened its doors, beginning more than 80 years of ministry, prayer, and service to the community. Decades later, in 2018, God placed a fresh vision on the hearts of our Pastors, Jonathan & Angela Yandell, to start a church that would reach people across Carter County who may have never stepped into a church before. That dream became Summit Church, officially launching in 2019. In just six years, countless lives were changed—people met Jesus, were baptized, and found hope and family. In 2025, just a few miles apart, God brought these two congregations together. The rich legacy of Lone Grove Assembly and the fresh passion of Summit Church became one, united with a shared mission: to Love God, Love People, and Love Life.
